Taking advantage of the services provided by
Parking and Transportation makes it easy to
get to, from, and around the campus.
Multiple commuter programs provide a variety of solutions for
getting to and from work.
- Cambus is a free on-campus bus service. Its routes include the Oakdale Research Campus, commuter lots, sports complexes, and residence halls.
- The University provides parking ramps and surface lots throughout the campus at reasonable (and pre-tax) rates. These sites are within easy walking
distance to workplaces or coordinated Cambus stops. During evening
and weekend hours, approximately half of these lots are available, free
of charge, to University employees with parking permits, for their
personal use.
- Vanpools provide more than 750 employees a safe and economical way to get to and from work.
- The Rideshare Incentive Program (T.R.I.P.) offers preferred parking assignments in select parking lots to participating UI employees.
- Carpool matching is a service to help people locate others interested in carpooling.
- The Emergency Ride Home Program is available to employees who carpool, vanpool, or take the bus to work. It provides them the ability to get home, to daycare, or to school if an emergency arises.
- Bus passes for Iowa City and Coralville buses are available at reduced rates.
